Getting’ really antsy, staying at home. Petie is really starting to bother me. I mean, I’m trying real hard to keep busy with him and walk him outside, letting him stay out by himself when the weather’s nice & whatnot. Today the lady that shares our duplex finally said something to mom & I – first time since I’ve been here & it was about Petie barking @ her & how it scared her and thought he was gonna bite her. I was instantly upset with her for saying it but didn’t let on about it. The more I thought about what she said the more pissed I got & how I wished I had said that Petie only bites stupid people & bring up that he is on a sturdy, 8ft leash and why the fuck would you be near enough for him to bite you?? You’d be stupid! Dogs only bite when intimidated! We are the first duplex in the complex, which means we are directly beside the road - he is not going anywhere near the road & that is where she & everyone else walks...The only way she or anyone else would get close enough to the dog is if they walked up the driveway..& that isn't gonna happen b/c people aren't normally that intrusive, especially when a dog is present. Petie is just barking at you b/c you’re an idiot stranger!
If you don’t want a dog to bark at you & you are a neighbor who will be walking by the dog you should go meet the damn thing! Meet it so it knows your smell & your intentions so it won’t bark anymore! Stupid cow.
So…we had fun today out & about thrifty shopping, mom & i.
I found a 1978 Pac Man drinking glass in a bag lot for $2. Mom found a bag lot of ash trays for the same price which is good because she was using candle holders before. One of them is a small green glass triangle, which I thought was cool. I also found 2 Roxy tank tops @ Goodwill that were [lucky for me] half off, while mom found a two piece tea cup & saucer set [$4] that she was super excited about. And it turned out that the maker has some really expensive pieces on their website up in New York. So she was stoaked even more after finding that out.
Big Lots wasn’t that great, even tho it was adjacent to the Edison Mall. Mom found a dvd set of Dynasty, but it’s the second season so she’s a little lost. She also got a mini xmas tree for 75 cents which she was excited to get b/c that’s what she wanted to have this year. Better late than never. I found some generic everyday items like this super good smelling natural soap & a dish drying thing.
I was just glad to not be driving & then seeing parts of the city I hadn’t yet traveled was exciting. Mom said that the on the road we took to town @ one point only had a church on it & when I looked around I saw so many car dealer lots & eateries & countless other strip malls & stores!! So crazy how different 20 years
This year was pretty basic. Had a celebratory dinner with mom on Christmas Eve, because she has to work the night of Christmas. Pot roast, mashed taters & steamed broccoli. It was delicious!
Opened gifts this morning & watched the last 2 episodes of the 3rd Season of True Blood where we now have to sit and wait like every other viewer for the 4th season to begin. How bored we will be.
